Shiira Project

Users of Windows don’t have much choice when it comes to web browsers. They invariably start using Internet Explorer since it’s there already when they switch on. Increasingly though, they’re discovering Internet Explorer is rubbish and that there are alternatives such as Firefox (if you haven’t made the switch, do your bit for humanity and [...]

Kent Earthquake

Waking up this morning to reports of a moderate Earthquake near Folkstone in Southern England. The U.S. Geological Survey says it happened at 08h18 and measured 4.7 on the richter scale, while the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre have said it measured 5.0 on the richter scale. Kent Police says it measure 4.3 on the richter scale. [...]

Me, Me, Me

Tonight, the ego-maniac in me did something I do now and again, but haven’t done in a while. I Google’d myself. I put my name and it’s varients and my usernames past & present into Google, clicked Search, and sifted through the results to see if anything interesting came up. Most of the 247,000 results [...]

What You’ve Heard Is True (Part 2)

In this second write-up on my trip to France’s wonderful capital city, I’m going to cover a few more of the major attractions that I visited in my short time there. If you’ve yet to read part one, you probably should. It sets the scene.

Visiting Tour Eiffel was the very first thing I did when [...]

Good On Ya Boris!

I was quite sorry today to hear former Russian president Boris Yeltsin has died at the age of 76. Yes, he presided over the military action in Chechnya, which he accepted full responsibilty for. But, he also spectacularly booted out Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev and became Russia’s first democratically elected president, which I think is [...]

London Marathon 2007

Today I was in one of my favourite places in the world to see the London Marathon, the world’s largest city marathon and, according to the race organisors, the world’s largest annual fundraising event. I go to London an awful lot (I used to have to go there every day when I worked there) and [...]

Site Tinkering Commences

Well, this blog has been running now for nearly a week and already, I’ve been tinkering with the design. If this is a repeat visit, you’ll notice a new header. It’s a credit to Paul and Neil, the makers of the template I’m using at how easy it was to alter the design to my [...]

Quick Look Around Tour Eiffel

Here’s another clip from my recent short trip to Paris.
It’s not as good as the last one from on top of Arc de Triomphe and there’s a unwelcome blip that iMovie thought would be good to throw in, but it’s only just over a minute long and gives you a quick taster of what it’s [...]

Want to Get Invited?

This’ll test the popularity of this new blog of mine. I’ve just been given three invites for Joost, the new Internet TV app that’s currently in private beta and that a lot of people are going crazy over. If you want one, just post a comment on this post and I’ll get back to you. [...]

On Top of Arc de Triomphe

Here’s a video from my recent trip to Paris. There’s a few more sitting on my mac waiting to be edited so expect those shortly. This one was taken from on top of Arc de Triomphe.
As you’ll see, it’s predominently of the traffic chaos below. It’s an interesting fact that if a crash were to [...]
