Me, Me, Me
Tonight, the ego-maniac in me did something I do now and again, but haven’t done in a while. I Google’d myself. I put my name and it’s varients and my usernames past & present into Google, clicked Search, and sifted through the results to see if anything interesting came up. Most of the 247,000 results for my name were unrelated and useless, but some of them were relevant and revealed some of my past internet activity, such as my comments on a programme called Holidays in the Danger Zone which showed on BBC Four.
Most of these results weren’t new to me. I’d seen them the last time I’d Google’d myself. There were two exceptions though. Upon clicking one of the results, I found myself looking at a photo of myself playing golf on a blog called Bucket a Day. The photo is bound by a Creative Commons license and the photo is duely credited, so I don’t mind at all. I didn’t think my swing was that good, but if golfing enthusiasts think it’s good enough for me to appear on their blog, then that’s great!
