The Power of Dreams
I’m sat here, at my mac, sipping hot tea, crunching on chocolate digestives and waiting for the local council and mayoral election results to come in. They would normally have been in overnight but due to changes in the way they do things, the electoral administration people are counting the votes this afternoon.

While mostly bored, I have been filling my time wisely. Media Guardian, one of my regular haunts has today posted news about the latest Honda advert (free subscription required) to be hitting UK tv screens shortly (direct link to video). It is, as usual, a beautifully created ad. Garrison Keillor adds his now familiar voice to the new ad which features typically near-film quality visuals and a bass trembling soundtrack. The message is clear. Honda engineers battle past adversity (such as passing tornadoes) to create Honda motors. Give it a watch and see what you think.
I’ve always been a big fan of Honda ads. Ever since the fantastic “Cog” ad was released, I’ve always eagerly anticipated the next. Below are links to other Honda ads that I’ve particularly enjoyed. I always thought that these ads were all shown wordwide but apparantly, they were all primarily created for British audiences with only some of them making it overseas.
- “Cog”
The ad that started it all off. - “Hate Something”
Some people hated this. I love it! - “Impossible Dream”
An epic ad. There’s a special England World Cup version too. - “Adventurous”
Less spectacular than the others, but still great. - “Choir”
Unique and beautifully executed. - “Asimo”
More forwards please!
