Free At Last
After a year of hard work, my studies for 2007 are finished. I completed my exam for my Open University Environmental Studies course on Wednesday and I’m now free to do as I will until it starts all over again next February/March. I’m glad I get at Winter break as opposed to a Summer break. I’m happier in the colder months. The weather’s much more interesting and I just feel more comfortable. I think the exam went OK and that I’ve done enough to pass. I find out how I did a week before Christmas.
So now I’ve got 3 to 4 months to fill. I imagine a majority will be filled with blissful laziness but I’m hoping to get some projects started and completed and to go on a few days trips. In the meantime though, I’ve got a week in Switzerland to get out of the way (if you haven’t read the ‘about’ page and you were wondering why my blog is called ‘Here To Geneva’, this might go some way to explaining). Tomorrow, I’ll be jetting off to Basel where ultimately I’ll end up staying in the world’s largest U-shaped valley which is home to Switzerland’s tallest waterfall. While there, I’ll also be staying in Switzerland’s tallest building and taking a day trip to Europe’s highest altitude railway station. I’m pretty excited, as it’s my first time outside the EU and my first time in an airplane (I know, crazy).
As a result of this little trip of mine, I’ve made some adjustments to the blog so you can keep track of me. I’ll be sending updates (tweets) throughout the week to Twitter from my mobile phone. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t got a Twitter account as all the tweets will be appearing above, just below the title. Not only that, but each day, the tweets will be collated into a single blog post where you can read any tweets you may have missed. Brilliant!
Obviously, when I get back there’ll be a flood of photos, videos and write-ups to look forward to. So… OH MAN, I should pack!
