Revellers filled the streets of central London on Sunday to celebrate the start of the Year of the Sheep. Despite the rain, hundreds of thousands descended on Chinatown to enjoy the atmosphere.

There was plenty to keep visitors entertained throughout the day. A noisy and colourful parade started proceedings in the morning. From midday, Trafalgar Square played host to live music and dance performances on a big stage, whilst community performance areas dotted throughout the area hosted music and martial arts displays. The many restaurants of Chinatown joined in the fun by setting up stalls on the street selling dim sum, noodle & rice dishes and freshly baked custard tarts and buns. Despite the best efforts of the inclement weather, the atmosphere was fun and lively.
