Worldwide Annoyance At Euro 2008 Power Cut

Last night, a global crisis occurred. The football went off air. Breathe deeply and hold someone’s hand as we look at how the world coped.
As you’ll know, the Euro 2008 championships have been taking place in Switzerland and Austria. So far, everything’s gone without a hitch, perhaps helped considerably by England’s absence from the competition. [...]

Ham Salad Please, Mum

First things first, watch the following video and make a note of your reaction.

This is an advert from Heinz publicising their new range of deli-style mayonnaise. Mmmm! I like mayonnaise. Goes great with ham salad. But, OH MY GOD, what’s that other taste in my mouth? It’s not just mayonnaise! I no longer feel the [...]

Me On The BBC

Yesterday was pretty cool. Not only did I experience an earthquake for the first time, but I also had the opportunity to do some filming for the BBC.

Two weeks ago, I emailed the BBC in response to a new entertainment news programme they launched on BBC News 24. A few days after, I got a [...]

A Very British Earthquake

00h58: Just been woken up by earthquake. Pretty strong. Pretty sure it wasn’t me.
That was a tweet I sent to Twitter this morning, two minutes after being woken by the strongest earthquake to occur in the UK for almost 25 years. I’ve long wanted to experience two natural phenomena’s, a tornado and an earthquake. Last [...]

Pick of the Podcasts

OK, let’s talk podcasts. If you don’t know what a podcast is, I shouldn’t blame you because podcasting is still a relatively new concept. That being said, I am going to blame you anyway, because podcasts are brilliant and the exposure that they’ve received has been so unmissable that if you are someone who has [...]

Roland Garros

It’s a warm morning, around 22C and set to rise, and I’m sat watching Roland Garros, otherwise known as the French Open. I’ve always enjoyed watching the French Open. It has quite a unique atmosphere and because it’s the only major played on clay, the style of tennis is not one I get to watch [...]

Run! Eurovision Cometh!

I don’t care how much street cred I lose (and I have a lot to lose let me tell you), I’m going to say it anyway. I really like Eurovision. I wouldn’t say I love it, but I certainly don’t like to miss the part where to votes are coming in and Terry’s commentary. This [...]

Oddities at The Bus Stop + Aussie Rules

Today, while waiting for the bus to arrive, a lady excused herself and asked me a question;
Where is the Saturday market?
I replied;
Saturday Market? It’s Wednesday! Today’s market is the Wednesday market.
Yes, where is the Saturday Market?
The Saturday Market will be in the same place as the Wednesday Market but it’ll be on Saturday. Today’s Market [...]

Election Présidentielle 2007

The francophile in me is currently enjoying watching the French Presidential election coverage on France 2. Well, France 2 on BBC Parliament.
It certainly puts British elections to shame in terms of it’s ‘watchability’. It’s rather exciting seeing Nicolas Sarkozy, who the exit polls have named the new president of France, being whisked through the [...]

Kent Earthquake

Waking up this morning to reports of a moderate Earthquake near Folkstone in Southern England. The U.S. Geological Survey says it happened at 08h18 and measured 4.7 on the richter scale, while the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre have said it measured 5.0 on the richter scale. Kent Police says it measure 4.3 on the richter scale. [...]
