About us

Hiya! We’re Matt & Jade

We’re a husband and wife team based in Scotland.

If you’re anything like us, you want your travels and adventures to have a positive impact on people, places and the planet.

We’re all individuals, but when we come together as a mindful and conscious travel community, wonderful things can happen.

We’re on a journey to becoming better, kinder and more conscious travellers. We’d love it if you came with us.

A kind and conscious traveller centres kindness, mindfulness and sustainability into every part of their travel experience

Most people book trips without much thought as to what impact their travel has on people, places and the planet, be that a positive or negative impact. Everything we do has consequences, but the excitement that travel brings often masks the reality of our actions.

A kind & conscious traveller seeks to reverse this.

They do so in the hope that they can limit any damage to local communities, the environment and wildlife.

They also seek to introduce positive action into their travel plans which not only brings development, regeneration and progression but also helps to enrich the travel experience.

Taking a Stand

We all have a role in fixing our broken planet, and Here To Travel is no exception. Accepting the evidence and the facts about climate change is the first step to formulating a plan of action.

As part of our commitment to tackling climate change, we are declaring a climate emergency.

Here To Travel is a signatory of the Glasgow Declaration on Climate Action in Tourism (co-drafted by Tourism Declares, UNWTO, UNEP, Travel Foundation and VisitScotland).

We’re also a part of Tourism Declares a Climate Emergency, a global community of over 400 tourism organisations, companies and professionals, all committed to delivering a Climate Action Plan aligned with the need to cut emissions in half by 2030.

They also seek to introduce positive action into their travel plans which not only brings development, regeneration and progression but also helps to enrich the travel experience.

Nobody’s Perfect

Becoming a kind and conscious traveller is very much a journey. We’re on that journey too.

We’re not perfect and we never will be. But, we’re trying our best to do the right thing.

The issues that we’re all trying to tackle as part of our journey are incredibly interwoven and nuanced. Unpicking the tapestry and establishing what is and isn’t the right course of action requires time, thought, discussion and evidence.

Humans have some solutions, but we’re still working on others.
